What is a Counsellor?
Counsellors may have a range of backgrounds, and may have master’s or doctoral level degrees from counselling programs. The title “Registered Clinical Counselor” means that a counsellor is registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and has met rigorous educational and practice requirements.
Who do I contact if I am in a crisis?
If you are in immediate crisis, the following resources can provide support:
VictimLINK, a 24-hour help and information line at 1-800-563-0808, which will help connect you to services in your community.
Information and supports may also be available with the Youth Against Violence Line at 1-800-680-4264 and talk one- on-one to a YAV Line support worker 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or e-mail info@youthagainstviolenceline.com
